These oil landscapes, some with figures, all have their origin in the Ottawa Valley; its flat planes of farmland, forest, rock, the Ottawa River and Gatineau Hills. Some are plein air sketches, others were painted from studies, sketches, and memory.
These abstract oil paintings are landscape based, and have developed over time from looking across the Ottawa River for a number of years. There are flat areas of paint, sky, water, rock, forest, sudden shafts of light. Sometimes the paint takes over.
These are some commissions painted in the last few years.
